Cape Town : Waddle Walk for African Penguins

Your plans if you are in Cape Town this weekend

For a fun and meaningful family outing this weekend, join the Waddle Walk for African Penguins in Simon’s Town. Taking place on Saturday, October 11, the event is organized by the Two Oceans Aquarium to raise awareness and support for the African penguin population, whose numbers have declined dramatically.

The Waddle Walk is a 4km route that starts at Long Beach, winds through Simon’s Town, and finishes at Seaforth Beach, passing along the Boulders Beach boardwalk. It’s free and open to everyone, offering a beautiful walk with a purpose. Kids will also love the penguin-themed crafts and puppet shows at the Two Oceans Aquarium, where a school holiday programme is also running until Sunday, October 12.

  • Date: Saturday, October 11, 2025
  • Time: The walk begins at 8:30 am.
  • Venue: The walk starts at Long Beach in Simon’s Town.
  • Tickets: Entry is free for the walk.
