Key Responsibilities for the DC Assistant Role
As a DC Assistant, your daily tasks will include:
- Working across all warehouse sections: Receiving, Picking, Stock Control, Dispatch, Returns, and Replenishment
- Receiving, picking, replenishing, and dispatching stock
- Quality checking items against order documents
- Reporting errors and providing feedback to supervisors
- Preparing packages with correct wrapping and labelling
- Ensuring safety of fragile items with proper packaging
- Performing basic machine maintenance and reporting faults
- Keeping workstations clean and safe
- Assisting colleagues in other sections when required
- Participating in stock-taking and cycle counts
- Meeting daily, weekly, and monthly KPI targets
- Driving a forklift (if licensed)
Requirements – What You Need to Apply
To qualify for this Media24 DC Assistant job, you must have:
- A Matric Certificate (essential)
- 1–2 years’ experience in a warehouse or stores environment
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not mandatory)
- Ability to work overtime when required
- Attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good teamwork skills
- Physical fitness, with the ability to lift heavy items repeatedly
